My father and one of my sisters always asked my devout mother critical, analytical, realistic, questions about the outlandish bible jw doctrine. This helped me see the many realistic variables life has to offer. The kicker was when I took a religions of the world course, philosophy course, business courses, and psychology courses. Then the internet offered a lot of realities about CTR. I kept digging after that, and then introduced the UN info to my wife. We soon faded and moved away. My children are now growing up cult free and with their sight on higher education.

How to deal with anxiety?

i have anorexia and deppression, and my anxiety has become overwhelming.
i have been to many doctors/therapists in the past, but because i have not been magically cured my parents dont want to get me any more help.

Don't give up visiting the true psychological professionals. If you don't have the monetary backing for this, then seek services that are available for free through governmental assistance. Don't give up and you are as worthy of living. P.S. please look up breathing exercises for anxiety.

do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

I outed myself to my fanatic mother and faded. She regarded me as DA'ed but never outed me. She exhibited her shunning and I proceeded to tell her that I would never ever bother her again. She held her ground and I stood mine. The love of my wife and children got me through it. Years later she texted me that she loved me, and allowed herself to be a mother again. Although dry and disconnected as she always was, she is now back and takes some interest in us. What really pisses me off is that she is still on her "donate everything to the WT when she is gone"plan..
Starving them of our presence and attention won my war. No calls, texts, visits, and when we accidentally bumped into them, we avoided them.
